admin answers:
To get rid of acne scars, you have to nourish your skin from the inside and take good care of it on the outside as well.
I heard that taking/consuming vitamin C, E, and oily fish (Omega 3) daily would stimulate your skin to heal quickly. There are creams like retinol (vitamin C extracts) that could be applied topically on your scars. There are also masks that help with the scarring (i.e. Neutrogena Acne Scar Fading Peel) but this will take quite a few months to see result. The best thing that you can do is exfoliate your skin three or twice a week to get rid of all that dead skin cells and over time, your skin should be able to heal itself.
You have to wear sunscreen daily to protect the scars from getting darker or redder. The sun will only make it worst!!
OR the ultimate quickest and most expensive way is to get several laser treatments at your local dermatologist.
Otherwise, over – the – counter products and a good diet will be only your best bet, but do give those scars some time.

Lizzie asks…
Best treatment for acne scars & marks?
I’m 35 and have oily skin. I still get breakouts once a month but it’s usually only 1 or 2, but they are bad ones & have left dark marks. My face isn’t pitted, just a lot of dark marks. Can anyone suggest a product to treat these marks? I tried searching online but all I get are ads! I need neutral unbiased opinions from people who’ve tried it as to what really works. Suggestions?
admin answers:
The best way of getting rid of discoloration from acne is to go to a dermatologist and get a chemical peel. There are over the counter chemical peels on the market but they probably would not be strong enough or good enough to get rid of those marks effectively.

Ruth asks…
Best acne/scar treatment for a pre-teen?
I have combination skin, and very mild acne(?). I get a couple pimples here and there, but they’re usually inflammatory cystes/nodules and leave deep scars. Also, I sometimes I get annoying whiteheads. Gross. And when I get the inflammatory, huge zits, they’re front and center in my forehead/T-Zone. Fun. NOT. So basically, I get annoying zits all the time, and I have a treasure map on my forehead. I need a good acne treatment for a pre-teen (12) that isin’t expensive. Please, no ProActiv. It’s a tad too expensive. I’m looking for something along the lines of Clearasil, Clean & Clear, etc, and exactly what to get from them. Also, if anyone knows a quick fix for old AND new acne scars; quick being 1-2 months or less; any reccomendations would be appreciated. Thank you.

HONEY I USE THESE TIPS WITH ANY AND EVERY PERSON I DO MAKEUP FOR IN THE THEATRE DEPT. AT SCHOOL, INCLUDING CLEANSING MY OWN SKIN!
When it comes to the face, heat is the biggest key. Heat creates an atmosphere for your pores to expand. A hot rag (as hot as you can stand it) across the face is the best bet. As far as a topical treatment, you need to invest in a good scrub and a very fine toner. I tell people this all the time that I do makeup for. Here are some key things to remember when looking for cleansers:
1. A good scrub needs to have some sort of exfoliant (i.e. Microbeads, pumice grains, etc.) in it. Once you have applied the hot rag to your face and opened up your pores, the scrub is used to get deep down into the pores and clean them out.
2. In a good scrub, stay away from anything that has a lot of soap or fragrance to it. Fragrance = additives that probably will makes things worse. Your main ingredient when looking for a scrub is salicylic acid. Salicylic acid acts as an antibacterial to cleanse deep to break up the blackheads and fight the bacteria causing them.
3. A good toner should be found because once the skin is clean, the toner is used to tighten the cleansed pores to minimalize the entrance of future bacteria. And sadly to say it (but get over it), A TONER DOES STINK! Its made primarily of alcohol, so it will stink! Get over it! It’s worth it!
4. Lastly, and a lot of people don’t think about this, find a light lotion with an added sunscreen (at least SPF 15). You want a light lotion (nothing fancy or fragrancy) with a sunscreen to prevent dryness from the toner and the sunscreen will help protect from sun damage (obviously!).
Always remember to catch blackheads before they start (before they become pimples)! And for the love of God: DO NOT PICK AT A PIMPLE IF YOU GET ONE! Picking only creates more infection from the bacteria on your hands….and most importantly: it’s just GROSS! Some brands to try for a scurb or toner would be: Oil of Olay, Biore`, Clinique, Clean & Clear, Clearasil…….just to name a few! Also remember to drink lots of water to help keep down ure intake of oils. Oh and p.s. To guys who are reading this: just because girls use it in a commercial DOES NOT mean that a guy cannot use it too! A girl would like it a lot more to see a guy with a clean face and a cabinet full of girly skin care stuff, than Mister Zit next door! I’m gay….trust me on this!

Your Questions About What Is The Best Treatment For Acne Spots

what is the best acne spot treatment product?

admin answers:

If that doesn’t work make an appointment with your doctor don’t be afraid

William asks…
what is the best acne spot treatment for occasional blemishes?
i dont really have acne, but sometimes i’ll get a zit. what is the the most effective spot treatment?
admin answers:
The tricky part about acne is that the problem can
actually become worse if you overmedicate. That’s
because acne medication can overdry the skin, causing
a boost in your skin’s Sebum (oil) production. This
results in…you guessed it – more acne.
So what’s the long term solution? Find gentler
solutions or even natural acne cures that won’t
shock your body into more breakouts.
Here’s what I recommend…
Glycerin based facewash:
Glycerin is gentler and will balance the
pH levels in your skin.
Antibacterial Soap:
For body acne, try using an antibacterial soap
to slowly dry out the skin. If your skin gets too dry,
switch to a moisterizing soap like Dove to
counterbalance the effect.
Don’t Overwash:
Wash your face only 2 times a day max and gently
pat dry with a towel.
Moisterize:
Use a gentle face moisterizer if the glycerin based
face wash drys you out too much. I like using
Aveeno moisterizers personally.
Change Your Diet:
Eat almonds, fiber, drink lots of water and avoid
excess sugar intake. Food really does make a difference.
This is because the food you put into your body has a
direct effect on your Sebum (oil) production. By eating
the right foods, you’ll minimize oily skin, thereby
preventing breakouts.
Egg Whites:
If acne medication isn’t working or causing new breakouts,
try applying egg whites to the pimples at night before bed.
This natural remedy works by gently drying out the clogged
pores and clearing up the pimple.
Oatmeal Masks:
One of my favorite natural skin conditioners is wearing an
“oatmeal mask”. The oatmeal with smooth your skin while
simultaneously absorb toxins and oils from your pores.
Try this for a few days straight. Wear the oatmeal mask
for 10 minutes, then wash off. You’ll have a nice
glowing complexion right after.
Lemon Juice:
Lemon juice also dries up pimples and kills any bacteria
in the infection. The citric acid also balances your skin’s
pH levels to prevent future breakouts.
Honey:
Yes, despite your initial beliefs, honey is FANTASTIC for
skin care. Actually, you may notice on many moisterizers
that honey is an ingredient. Much like the lemon solution
above, honey balances the skins pH levels. Test out this
sticky remedy by dabbing pimples with honey and leaving it
on for 5-10 minutes. You can apply full honey masks to your
face but I prefer the oatmeal masks instead.
They’re less messy.

admin answers:
You should switch skin care routines – Arbonne will work wonders! I have used it and sold it for 2 years and have flawless skin! In a pinch like you are, I would use that Clearasil overnight stuff – the patches if they still sell them. You stick it on and it zaps overnight!!
Good luck… I have to ask.. Is this tattoo going on the face?? LOL!

Charles asks…
What is the best spot acne treatment?
I want something that is available at WalMart because I’m going grocery shopping tomorrow and I want to pick it up there. What has worked best for you?
admin answers:
My daughter said to put a small dab of toothpaste on a pimple before you go to bed. She read it somewhere, and now she swears by it. For some reason the toothpaste dries the pimple and takes the redness away, making it heal faster. My son (her brother) had a horrible pimple on his face, he put the toothpaste on it, and dang! It was gone in a few days.

Your Questions About Best Acne Scar Laser Treatment

Mary asks…
Fraxel Laser Treatment for acne scars?
my dermatologist told me that my best option for minimizing the appearance of my acne scars is to have fraxel laser surgery. For 4 treatments, its going to cost me $3,600.
My derm is reputable (I see tv commercial about her clinics) and I’ve been seeing her for the past 3 years.
Should I be skeptical of this procedure? My research tells me that people has had good and bad experiences with fraxel treatments. What’s your thought?
admin answers:
Well,to get rid of acne scars, the best procedure to take is a laser treatment which is what you’re planning to take right now.I would say that would be a very cheap treatment since it consists of 4 treatments and you should proceed if you want.Plus, this procedure is much faster and improve your skin complexion without any side effects. However,if you would like to opt for cheaper alternatives you could try these alternatives at home too(:
Baking Soda-Exfoliate your skin with baking soda. Often times, a version of baking soda is used in cosmetic microdermabrasion treatments. You can give yourself a mini microdermabrasion treatment by mixing one teaspoon of baking soda with the two teaspoons of filtered water. Then gently rub the mixture on your acne scar for sixty seconds then rinse it off.
Fresh Fruits-In addition to eating fresh fruits to supply your skin with collagen building vitamin C, you can also smear them onto your face for gentle acid exfoliation. Just puree a forth a cup of pineapple and smooth it onto your face. Leave it for 10-15 minutes, then rinse. Since the pineapple contains ascorbic acid, it will impart a brightening effect on the face, and help fade acne marks.
Apple And Honey-Using a blender, make a mixture out of 1 peeled apple with 1 tablespoon of yogurt, half a cucumber and 1 tablespoon of honey. Apply on face, leave for 20 minutes and wash off with warm water.
Olive Oil-Massage a pea-sized amount of olive oil onto your face.Acne scaring can cause the skin to lose its elasticity and suppleness. The moisturizing nutrients in the olive oil will penetrate the skin to deeply moisturize the skin and soften the skin’s texture.
Well, these are those 4 remedies that works best for your skin that impose no irritation to your skin.Good luck trying these at home and pick one that suits you.Hope this helps and great skin wishes.

Jenny asks…
WHat is the best way to get rid of acne scars. Laser? What kind?
There are so many kinds of laser treatments which is best, or is microdermal abrasion better? The treatments are so expensive that it would be good to know which one works best.
admin answers:
I have had the micro dermabrasion treatment and as it didn’t get rid of all the scars it did however help some. My mom took me for my 24th bday and paid 4 grand on the treatment. I had the 3 session when I think I should have went with the 5. I have had acne since I was 12. The scars that I have are all over my cheeks and my forehead. I had a few really deep scars that are still there but they aren’t as visible as they used to be. I think I am going to go back for a few more sessions but i just dont have the money right now. It sucks because I am so self conscious about them and just by having the acne and scars it has made me really insecure. I cant look in the mirror and see anything but the obvious. Well, to me the obvious. I have a great boyfriend who doesnt even see it when he looks at me. He only sees my beautiful face and eyes. I often wonder if hes blind.
Mind you, my scars were really bad so if your are just mild then I would go for a 3 session of the micro dermabrasion. I will tell you that it hurts like hell and your face will be a bit puffy for a couple of days. Thankfully the redness usually lasts a day. I made my appointment the day before my day off so after work i would go and not have to go back to work with it being all red. Also, the treatments work for 6 months after your session. I had my sessions a couple of weeks apart and wish I would have waited a bit longer in between. I hope this helps and if you have any questions, feel free to email me.

Your Questions About Best Overnight Acne Treatment

William asks…
How to make acne appear better?
I have recently had a breakout, and I know that it’s not going to go away overnight or anything, but I would like to make it look a little better for a party I’m attending tomorrow night. I haven’t worn make up for 2 days and have been washing it and using witch hazel. A little spot treatment too. But I was wondering if there were any other way to just make it appear better, even under my make up? It gets flaky and it’s hard to cover when it’s like that. Any suggestions are appreciated- 10 pts. to best answer! Thanks!
admin answers:
You could try to use a good moisturizer so it’s not so flaky and then on top of that you could put some light foundation and if you want, some concealer. I hope that kind of helped ^.^

Heey,
I also star school soon and I really wanted to clear up my skin.
After 2 weeks my skin looks amazing.
1. Drink LOADS of water, it’s healthy and really makes a difference!
2. Wash face twice daily with a mosturiser
3. Change sheets once a week, they can get all the sweat in your pores and cause you to breakout
4. I know this may sound strange, but take primrose or fish oil ( they come in capsules )
and make a HUGE difference. You can buy them pretty much at any drug store
they are high in omeg 3′s which are very good for your skin.
5. Try to get the daily reccomended value of fruit and vegetables.
6. Stay Away from sodas and greasy foods, you will really breakout!
Hope I helped

Try and use something with salicylic acid in it… That helps a lot. Don’t over wash you face as that will dry it out and can end up making you oily (leading to more breakouts). You should also make sure you use a non comedogenic moisturizer after washing=] Good luck and make sure you do drink lots of water!

i’m severely obsessed with my facial blemishes, help?
i’ve made it my mission right now to get clear perfect skin so i can stop wearing foundation and to improve my self esteem.
This was around 2 months ago and i’m overly obsessed currently.
i’ve had a history of being called ugly, so i’m doing everything in my power to start looking good, first, to remove all imperfections, my acne.
So i’ve been taking amazing care in improving my face and diminishing all acne.
I wash it with clean & clear morning burst and st ives green tea oil soothie acne medication. this hasnt really been working whatsoever.
BUT, at the beggining, it did, and it cleared up my face more than ANYTHING at first. I was so happy, and i felt that i would accomplish my clear perfect skin, but then, i started breaking out again,
getting acne AGAIN, on my right cheek, on my left cheek, on my chin. and i can’t stand this anymore. I absolutely just can’t stand it WHATSOEVER.
i dread turning on the lights in the bathroom,
i dread looking at myself in good lighting because that will make me breakdown.
yesterday, after taking a shower i decided to look into a good light mirror to see exactly what i look like, sort of like challenging myself.
When i looked in the mirror, i started crying and screaming. I had more pimples, and i was back to square 1, not even that. square -5 because it got worse.
i lay on the floor for an hour just crying because EVERYTHING i try and do never works. i was obsessed with my hair and growing it thick for a couple of months, that didn’t work either. despite all the wonderous treatments i did for it, such as do hair masks, and organic things, and brushing it and not straightening it, NOTHING worked. Nothing ever works for me when i try.
what do i do?
i can’t stand it anymore. I can’t stand looking at someone with perfect skin without feeling total hatred towards them IMMEDIATELY because they have exactly what i want and barely try to get it, while here i am, thinking about it constantly 24 hours of the day. as soon as i get home from school i wash my face, everything i do nowadays is for my skin. i take walks in a windy day because i think it’ll somehow improve my skin complexion. I started running because i thought it would improve my skin complexion. i drink a lot more water, and eat a lot more fruits ONLY FOR MY SKIN. every action i do is targetted towards it.
i cry everyday because i want clear skin so badly, and i’ve been trying for so long to get it and nothing ever seems to work. and i’m not rich i can’t just run around buying miracle products..
i’m 15 btw.
i’m just absolutely obsessed and can’t even look people in the eye anymore. i feel like i need to be away from everybody until i look my best. i can’t show myself to people with all this acne on my face.
its so frustrating because i try so hard, so so so so so hard, and get so so so so frustrated after nothing works that i just result to picking. goddamit it.
i’ve absolutely had enough of this. i can’t stand it anymore. i want it all gone overnight, i long for the morning i can wake up and look in the mirror with a smile on my face, and put on mascara , eyeliner, and lipgloss, and actually go to school and socialize and have fun.
one of my bestfriends whom i barely even want to look at it anymore has the most wonderful glowing perfect flawless compelxion that i have ever witnessed for a girl at our age.
i hate her out of pure envy.
This is ruining my life, everytime i get a few new breakouts i feel like i’d much rather DIE.
why must i always be so unlucky?
i even put babypowder on my face so my face will get dry and no more breakouts will occur but that solves nothing.
i have papules like those red pimples with no whitehead, that jjust seem to chill out on my face for MONTHS.
someone help me
admin answers:
First things first, STOP TOUCHING YOUR FACE! All the nasty crap that is on your hands will transfer onto your skin. If there is a pimple that needs popping, wash your hands thoroughly first and use a safety pin. A pin will prevent the spot from bruising and scarring. Stop going into your bathroom too, just try to avoid mirrors. All the stress you are putting on yourself to be perfect is just making your acne way worse. Calm down and chill out for your own good. Clean & clean morning burst has no acne medication, therefore it won’t help. What I recommend is getting on a daily routine. I have tried Proactiv and it works great, murad is good too and dermalogica clean start is awesome. Your skin needs to adjust to these products first, so if you choose a system stick with it. Try to remember that everybody has different skin and this is just teenagey stuff. If you have bangs, pull them back because the oils will make acne worse. Make sure all your make-up is non-comedogenic. Some acne systems like the ones named also carry make-up made for acne prone skin, they have either salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. That’s another thing, make sure your face wash has either benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, these are the two main zit fighters. Proactiv has benzoyl peroxide while clean start, and murad contain salicylic acid. Don’t expect anything to go away overnight, because it won’t. Thinking this will just make you more anxious and overwhelmed. While some say diet has no effect, i believe it does. Make sure you stick to drinking lots of water, eight glasses a day, and limit your dairy intake. Dairy products, mostly milk tend to cause acne, this was a study done by proactiv. Onto makeup again, mineral makeup is known to help treat acne too. As for acne scarring, don’t touch the zits. Never! Pick the scabs either. PLEASE STOP with the baby powder too. If you really want something to sop up the oils use proactiv, they even have a cream called oil-control. When you get old you’ll love the oily skin because you will get less wrinkles! I rarely ever get pimples on my face and most of my friends do. You must exfoliate 1-2 times per week to remove dead skin so that your products can really sink in. Just plain old baking soda mixed with a cleanser will work just fine. Another thing to keep in mind when you’re washing your face is to be gentle, harsh movements will worsen it. Make sure to use lots of cleanser and don’t be cheap with it. Oh and don’t use face cloths to wash either. Wash your hands first too. Crushing salicylic tablets (asprin or generic brand) mixed with water will create a paste to dry out skin too. Everybody feels self conscious about something or other, so your friends might have problems too that you don’t about. Don’t be embarrassed because acne happens to all teenagers whether they like it or not. If nothing works, talk to your doctor or dermatologist about it, I’m sure they can help with a prescribed acne medication or cream. Take your time with it though because it will take at least a week or so.

You sound desperate & at the end of your rope. I’m going to give you the best advice you’ll EVER hear. It’s very simple; Sometimes LESS is MORE!!!!
I broke out horribly when i was in college. I was devastated & absolutely mortified. I refused to turn the lights on & refused to even go outside in the daylight because i felt like people were staring at my face like i had some kind of disease. I tried everything on my face & wondered why it was getting worse, rather than better. Someone told me that i should stop putting so much crap on my face & told me to NEVER pop a pimple that has a blackhead because it will only spread. She was so right. I stopped putting so many cleansers & acne creams on my face & all i did was wash my face with a warm wash clothe when in the shower. I didn’t use any soaps or harsh chemicals on my face. Now i’m a mom of two teenage boys & my youngest son went through the same thing as me. He tried that Pro-Active crap & a bunch of other cleansers & creams trying to get rid of it & it made it worse. I gave him a bit of the same advice i was given & BOOM, his acne disappeared. He’s got beautiful skin now. Stop putting all that crap on your face. Leave it alone & i guarantee that your face will clear up. Seriously…sometimes less is more & in this case this applies. Give yourself a month of doing this & see what happens. I can tell you are desperate. This is the best advice you’ll ever get. Try it!!! Good luck!
